Position your Aerospring vertical garden
Give your garden roots and wings.
1. How much space do I need?
The Aerospring garden is 1.95m high and its base measures 47cm in diameter. For optimal use, you should allocate about 1 square metre of floor space to it. Aerospring is specifically designed for balconies and terraces, but also for indoor use in your living room or conservatory.
You will need a certain amount of sunlight or good exposure to light (artificial or natural) to get the best crop yield.
-
Your Aerospring is indoors
We recommend choosing a location near a window that gets direct sunlight for part of the day. The ideal geographical exposure for your room is south, south-east, south-west or west. -
Your Aerospring is outdoors
On your roof/terrace/balcony/garden, we recommend choosing a sunny space that benefits from a few hours of shade.
If your Aerospring cannot benefit from shade, we recommend placing it under a canopy or protecting it with parasols during the hottest hours. -
Your Aerospring is in your greenhouse
You can place the Aerospring at the entrance of the Family greenhouse in front of your fish tanks.
Tips
If you place the Aerospring on slabs or concrete that heat up during the day, it is recommended to raise the tank with a support in order to create airflow under the vertical garden.
You will need to connect the vertical garden to an electrical outlet to operate the pump. A waterproof cable 5m long will allow you to plug it in inside your apartment if you do not have an outdoor outlet.
Warning
- Place the Aerospring in a safe area
- Prevent children from climbing onto or standing on the base of the vertical growing tower.
2. Light and heat requirements
Light requirements vary depending on the plant species grown in your vertical garden. Its placement may require a temporary shading period.
Sun is a major factor in plant health and growth. This means that your Aerospring must receive direct sunlight for at least part of the day.
In temperate zones, the Aerospring requires exposure to at least 6h of sun depending on the species grown. In warmer climates, 2 to 4 hours of direct sun are generally sufficient.
For optimal plant growth, you can slightly rotate the base of the Aerospring so that each cultivated side receives equal sunlight.
Indoor versionAn LED lighting kit adapted to the structure of the vertical garden is available for indoor growing all year round.
Temperature is also an important factor for plant growth in your vertical garden. This parameter affects leaf and flower development as well as fruit formation.
A minimum of 8 to 10°C is required to use your Aerospring outdoors.
TipGrow with your Aerospring outdoors between April and October, and continue the winter season indoors.
3. Water: recirculating irrigation
Instead of soil, your vertical garden uses water and dissolved nutrients for the growth of your vegetables.
Simply fill the tank with water and the pump ensures that your plants are irrigated regularly.
TipMake sure you are close to a water point so you can easily refill the tank occasionally.
4. Electrical connection
The Aerospring must remain plugged into the mains at all times. The pump (35W) enables irrigation of the vertical garden.
The watering frequency is set using a timer according to the season and your climate, based on our recommendations. The program triggers water supply in 15-minute periods, spaced closer together or further apart during the day.
A waterproof cable 5 metres long is supplied with the pump to give you flexibility when positioning the Aerospring.
Extreme weather conditionsThe tower must be protected or moved during unusual events (heatwaves, storms, strong winds, hail).
