Aquaponics or bioponics: make the right choice

Find the growing method that suits you.

Read our fundamental principles to understand plant-fish-bacteria interactions.

The ZipGrow vertical growing tower system is suitable for two growing methods: bioponics and aquaponics. In both cases, this is a natural growing process. Micro-organisms introduced into the water work to deliver the minerals needed by the roots for plant growth.

Here is some information to help you choose between these two growing methods:

*KH corresponds to the carbonate hardness of the water
**pH is an indicator of water acidity
(1) Cycling corresponds to the establishment and multiplication of beneficial bacteria in the water to make the environment viable. These bacteria play a role in the nitrogen cycle to ensure it is available to plants.
