Greenhouse structure and accessories

A few points to check to ensure the greenhouse operates properly.

To ensure optimal long-term operation and avoid premature equipment deterioration, we invite you to follow the maintenance schedule below:

1. Actuators for the automatic openings

The actuators operate pneumatically with gel. It is necessary to remove all actuators from the vents during very cold periods. To do this, remove the small pin and unscrew the actuator (black part) while keeping the vent open.

Frequency: every year

2. The greenhouse’s external seals

The greenhouse’s external seals keep the greenhouse watertight against rain. Over time, these seals gradually shrink. Replacement is very easy: simply clip the new seals in place of the old ones.

Frequency: every 10 years

3. The ventilation grille filter

The grille can become clogged depending on the greenhouse’s dust level. When the filter shows heavy build-up, open the grille from the inside and wipe it down with a cloth to clean it.

Frequency: every 6 months

4. The irrigation system

Flushing the irrigation system is done by opening the drain valve and firmly tapping the black irrigation pipes with an iron bar. A watering hose with a quick-connect fitting can also be used to thoroughly clean out the pipes.

Frequency: every 2 months

5. The nuts

Check how tight the nuts are on the greenhouse structure as well as on the anchoring system. Systematically replace any parts that show signs of mechanical fatigue (profiles, tie rods, etc.).

Frequency: every year

6. The tanks

Clean the particles deposited at the bottom of the tanks:

  • With a scrub brush, scrub the bottom of the tanks
  • Leave the pump running to continue filtration
  • Clean the filter

Frequency: every year

7. The wooden structure

It is useful to apply a wood stain to the wooden structure in contact with the tanks.
Using an exterior wood stain such as linseed oil, resistant to water and UV, is recommended.

Frequency: every 5 years
