Cleaning the growing medium support
Soilless growing is an endless cycle.
Black matrices (or matrix media) are the elements that replace soil.
They are therefore the place where the plants will develop their roots.
Located at the centre of the towers or at the centre of your Aerospring garden, they are made from recycled PET plastic coated with silicone and are fully suitable for food contact.
Reusable, they should be cleaned between each season.
1. Clean the Aerospring Garden matrix
- Dry in the sun for several days
- Remove most of the roots
- Put the matrix back in the tower
2. Clean the tower matrices
- Clean the towers 8 at a time, leaving a little time for the bacteria to recolonize the substrate
- Use a pressure washer, taking care not to damage the black matrices
- Use a small scrubbing sponge to remove green marks from the towers
- Rinse the white felt liners with clean water
Clean and reuseAs stated above, cleaning with water only is enough to remove most of the roots. No product should be added.
The matrices can be reused for several consecutive years if they are cleaned once or twice a year.
