Light management
From April to September.
The greenhouse is designed to produce fruit and vegetables all year round. It is an optimal space for your plants to thrive in the different production modules.
In summer, natural light is sufficient, so there is no need to switch on the horticultural LED lighting module.
1. Deploy the shade cloth
From May/June onwards, as soon as temperatures in the greenhouse exceed 25°C, it is recommended to keep the shade cloth deployed permanently.

Deployment of the thermal screen from the upper walls down to the side walls for maximum protection of cultivated plants.
Benefits of the shade cloth
- Reduce heating inside the greenhouse: reflective fabric.
- Filter light to support plant growth.
- Prevent burns on plants.
- Reduce algae development in aquaponics or bioponics growing tanks.
2. Shade the tanks
Whatever growing method you choose, aquaponics and bioponics require partial shading of the tanks. This helps to:
-
Prevent direct sunlight from coming into contact with the water in the tanks
In fact, algae can develop and disrupt the bacteria-plant-fish balance. To grow, algae feed on the same nutrients as plants. See our page dedicated to algae control. -
Lower the water temperature to ensure fish wellbeing.
Not all fish species are suited to water temperatures above 25°C. Find out on our dedicated page which species to choose depending on the season.
Tank shading and fish wellbeingShading the tanks has no impact on the wellbeing of your fish. They do not need a bright environment to grow and reproduce.
