Monitor your spirulina daily
-
Monitor the temperature (below 40 °C)
If it gets close to this:- Ventilate the greenhouse
- Stop the heating
- If this is not enough, provide shade – deploy the shade cloth – and slightly open the lids until the temperature drops.
-
Monitor the pH of the culture
Dip a piece of pH paper into the culture for a few seconds and compare the resulting colour with the colour chart.
The pH of a healthy culture should be between 9 and 11. -
Remove any insects or particles present on the surface
-
If a biofilm / spirulina layer appears on the tank walls: scrub the walls with the brush

Use the brush regularly to remove accumulated biofilm
-
If the tank level has dropped (natural evaporation), top up the level with drinking water (do not add more culture medium: salts do not evaporate ).
-
Maintenance : With use, monthly cleaning of the heating equipment and the aeration device is necessary.
