Change the growing mode: aquaponics - bioponics
For optimal, tailored production.
You can switch cultivation methods at any time, to bioponics or aquaponics.
If you have any questions, you can contact our agronomists for support with the process.
1) From aquaponics to bioponics
It is easy to switch from aquaponics to bioponics.
You will first need to find a new home for your fish and remove them from your production system.
Then follow our recommendations to start using soluble organic fertilizers and microorganisms.
Supplying nutrients to plantsGrow and Bloom organic fertilizers replace fish waste and aquaponics supplements.
2) From bioponics to aquaponics
Before considering this change, allow at least 1 month between the last addition of Grow/Bloom organic fertilizers and the introduction of fish.
This water preparation period is mandatory to guarantee a suitable environment for the fish without fertilizer residues.
STEP 1: Using a test strip, check the following parameters in the fish tank water:
- Presence of nitrates, nutrients for plants
- Absence of nitrites, toxic compounds for fish
- General hardness (GH) between 4 and 16 °d
- Carbonate hardness (KH) between 5 and 6 °d
Feel free to consult our page dedicated to cycling with the conditions for introducing fish.

STEP 2: Using the hub, make sure your pH is stable between 6,5 and 6,8.
Feel free to consult our page dedicated to acidity management.

STEP 3: You can then add aquaponics supplements according to our recommendations for plant growth.
WarningGrow and Bloom fertilizers are not compatible with fish.
