A few maintenance points to check.
Pump maintenance steps
Do every 3 months
- Remove the filter cover.
- Turn the pump inlet cover plate, then lift the cover to expose the impeller.
- Take hold of the impeller with your fingers and lift it out of the housing; there is slight resistance from the magnet.
- Make sure the metal shaft is positioned with the rubber cap in the housing.
- Clean the impeller with water.
- Slide the clean impeller into the center of the housing.
- Make sure there is a rubber cap at both ends.
- Fit the pump cover, making sure the seal is locked in place.
- Close the filter and put it back in the tray. Make sure the hose is connected to the pump under the cover.
Cleaning the water reservoir
It is necessary to clean:
- The reservoir, following the build-up of deposits
- The pump to prevent it from being damaged.
Cleaning the reservoir:
- Drain the water with the fertilizer.
either keep it to reuse in the Aerospring or use it to water the permaculture beds or your garden.
You can use the pump to empty the Aerospring. - Clean the reservoir with water, especially any residue on the walls.
- Fill it again with water, fertilizer and Bioponic Mix.
Cleaning the pump:
- Open the grille
- Remove the foam and rinse it with a jet of water
- Put the clean foam and the grille back
- Rinse the pump blades with water
- Put the pump back into operation in the filled reservoir
